Cardiac Chest Pain - Symptoms , Signs & What should you do?


Cardiac chest pain is a type of chest pain that is caused by a heart-related condition such as angina or a heart attack. Here are some common symptoms and signs of cardiac chest pain:


Chest discomfort: You may experience a feeling of pressure, fullness, or squeezing in the chest. This discomfort may be located in the center or left side of the chest.


Pain in other areas: The pain may also be felt in the arms (especially the left arm), neck, jaw, shoulder, or back.


Shortness of breath: You may have difficulty breathing or feel like you are unable to catch your breath.


Sweating: You may experience sudden and unexplained sweating.


Nausea or vomiting: You may feel nauseous or vomit.


Dizziness or lightheadedness: You may feel dizzy or lightheaded.


Immediate steps to take if you experience symptoms of cardiac chest pain include:


Call for emergency medical help immediately: Don't delay in seeking medical attention. Call 911 or your local emergency number right away.


Stop all activity: If you are doing any physical activity, stop immediately and rest.


Sit down and try to relax: Sit down and take deep breaths to try to calm down.


Take nitroglycerin if prescribed: If you have been prescribed nitroglycerin, take it as directed by your doctor.


Chew aspirin if directed: If your doctor has instructed you to chew an aspirin during a heart attack, do so as soon as possible.
